Meet the Sandy Springs Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Sandy Springs

We’re the crew that shows up when your gate won’t close at midnight or your opener starts grinding on a Saturday morning. Every person on this page has a real license number, a real background check on file, and a real habit of photographing every adjustment before we leave your property. What ties us together isn’t a handbook - it’s the Haven Standard, and the fact that none of us can stand leaving a job half-done.

Our People

Adrian Vance - Owner & Lead Technician

I started Vance Gate Repair in 2014 after ten years wiring commercial access-control systems for distribution centers and parking garages. The documentation habit stuck: every job still gets the same photo log and wiring diagram I was trained to produce on industrial sites. These days I split my time between the most complex troubleshooting calls and making sure our Sandy Springs crew has the right parts in their vans before they head out. I live in Dunwoody with two dogs who have learned to stay clear of any gate that beeps before it moves. If you call after hours, there’s a decent chance I’m the one who answers.

Marcus T. - Senior Installer

Marcus has been building and welding gate frames for fourteen years, starting with ornamental iron in a Decatur shop before moving into automated systems. He holds a certified welding credential through AWS D1.1 and handles every custom fabrication job we take on, from repairing twisted driveway gates after a delivery truck misjudges the turn to building new aluminum frames that won’t sag in Georgia humidity. He’s the one who notices when a post footing is two inches off before the concrete sets, which has saved more than a few Sandy Springs homeowners from a gate that drags six months later. Off the clock, he restores vintage motorcycles and applies the same patience to both.

Darnell K. - Service Coordinator

Darnell answers the phones, manages the schedule, and makes sure every technician has the customer’s history before they arrive. He came to us from a commercial HVAC dispatch office, so he actually understands what “the condenser fan is running but the gate won’t cycle” means and can translate it into the right parts order. He’s the reason we hit a ninety-minute average response on emergency calls in the Sandy Springs area last year. He keeps a map of every gated community in north Fulton County marked with the specific access codes and HOA requirements, because nothing wastes a morning like a technician stuck at a call box. He fishes Lake Lanier most Sundays and will ask about your boat if you mention water.

Jin S. - Apprentice Technician

Jin joined us in 2023 after completing a mechatronics program at Gwinnett Technical College. She’s already certified on LiftMaster and FAAC operator programming, and she’s the person we send when a gate motor needs a firmware update or a new wireless receiver paired to existing remotes. She documents everything twice - once on her tablet and once in her handwritten notebook, which she started keeping after Adrian showed her a commercial job file from 2016 where the paper backup saved a warranty claim. She lives in Chamblee and has a running bet with Marcus about which Sandy Springs neighborhood has the steepest driveway (current leader: a cul-de-sac off Heards Ferry Road).

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard travels with us whether we’re working on a single-family swing gate in Sandy Springs or a multi-lane commercial installation down in Buckhead. Every technician on this page carries the same clause in their work order: written price before any tool touches the gate, photographed evidence of every finding and adjustment, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise backing the completed work. Adrian built this into the company after watching too many access-control contractors walk away from problems that showed up two months later. We don’t have a separate policy for residential customers. You get the same documentation, the same upfront pricing, and the same accountability that Vance Gate Repair has delivered on over 22,000 jobs since 2014. The only difference is we probably won’t ask about your loading dock hours.
